At Aqta, we take your privacy seriously. This Privacy Policy explains how Aqi ("we", "us" or "our") collects, uses, and protects your information when you use our AI companion.

Information We Collect

Depending on how you use Aqi, we may collect:

• Account details (email, login method)
• Usage data and analytics (e.g. number of messages, features used, timestamps)
• Device and technical data (browser, OS, IP region)
• Preferences and settings (theme, language, character/personality choices)
• Subscription and billing details (handled by Revolut; we do not store full card numbers)

By default, your conversations are stored so Aqi can maintain context (chat history, receipts, insights). We do not use human reviewers to read individual conversations. We run automated checks on chats (for example, to detect abuse or spam). Optional analytics cookies or product telemetry are governed by the consent choices in the app (see Cookies and Tracking). AI model providers receive only what is needed to generate each reply, under our agreements with them. You can export your data from the app, delete specific chats, or delete your entire account at any time (see "Your Rights" and "Data Retention").

How We Use Your Information

We use your data to:

• Provide and improve Aqi's chat and companion features
• Personalise your experience (e.g. preferred character, language, theme)
• Generate optional insights and "receipts" about your usage
• Operate subscriptions and process payments
• Communicate important updates, security notices, and product changes
• Prevent abuse, secure the service, and comply with legal obligations

We do not sell your personal data.

Data Storage and Security

We use industry‑standard security measures, including:

• Encrypted connections (SSL/TLS)
• Secure cloud infrastructure (e.g. Vercel, Neon)
• Access controls and authentication
• Regular monitoring and security reviews

No system is 100% secure, but we work to protect your data from unauthorised access, loss or misuse.

• Remember your settings (theme, language, chosen character)
• Understand how people use Aqi (analytics)
• Improve performance and reliability

Data Sharing

We do not sell your personal data. We share data only with service providers who help us run Aqi, for example:

• Revolut – payment processing
• Vercel – hosting
• Neon – database infrastructure
• Analytics / logging providers – to understand performance and usage

Where AI model providers are used to process your messages, we only send the minimum data needed to generate responses. We work to ensure all providers follow strong security and data‑protection standards and, where required, enter into data processing agreements (DPAs) to comply with GDPR.

Data Retention

We keep your data for as long as your account is active, or as needed to: Provide the Service; Comply with legal and accounting obligations; Resolve disputes and enforce our Terms. You can request deletion of your account and associated data via the app or by contacting us. Some data (e.g. payment records) may be kept longer where required by law.

Children's Privacy

Aqi is not intended for children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal data from children. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, please contact us so we can delete it.

Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. If we make significant changes, we will notify you via email or in‑app notice. Your continued use of Aqi after changes take effect means you accept the updated policy.
